Grand Praying Ceremony and Ullambana Celebration – August 6th and 7th, 2011

The Overseas Office of the Unified Buddhist Church of Vietnam, Dieu Ngu Temple (14472 Chestnut Street, Westminster, CA 92683) will celebrate Ullambana on Saturday and Sunday, August 6th and 7th, 2011, respectively.

THE GRAND PRAYING CEREMONY FOR THE DECEASED will start at 3PM Saturday, August 6th, 2011, and the ULLAMBANA CELEBRATION will begin at 10AM and last until 12:30 PM on Sunday August 7th, 2011

In addition to traditional Ullambana services such as praying for the ancestors, parents from past lives to the present, martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country, war victims, and those who died prematurely, and so on … this year’s Ullambana celebration at Dieu Ngu Temple also includes Dharma talks, animal release, taking refuge in the Three Jewels, and especially honoring Longevity celebration for the elderlies 80 years old and older.

Dieu Ngu Temple will also hold daily service to chant The Ullambana Sutra and Filial Piety Sutra from Monday August 1st to Saturday August 6th.
