With the goals of training youth and students to study and explore Buddhist dharma in order to spread Vietnamese Buddhism throughout the world while fulfilling the tasks of communication based on modern computing technologies serving media communities, international lobby, and other social, cultural, and educational activities in Vietnamese commnities abroad, the Second Office of the Institute for the Dissemination of Dharma and the Viet-American United Buddhist Congress organize a 3-year Summer Buddhist College program. There were 150 participants in 2011, the first year of the program.

This year’s Summer Buddhist College will be held from July 4 to July 8, 2012 at the lecture hall of Dieu Ngu Temple (14472 Chestnut Street, Westminster, CA 92683 USA)

The program consists of:

1.History of Vietnamese Buddhism
2.Basic Buddhist Dharma
3.Vietnamese Culture
4.Communications and Media
5.International Lobbying
6.Introduction in new concepts on Human Rights and Democracy in the 21st century; international human rights and democracy related to Buddhism and Vietnam

Applications are accepted from March 7 until June 1st, 2012.
